David Harries is the owner and proprietor of Southern Cloud Computing. David's interest in computing and technology started in high school, but really came to the fore whilst selling telephone systems in 1997. He discovered he was spending more and more time setting up the computer systems to support the telephone systems at which stage he decided to retrain and get some industry qualifications. David moved to London in early 2000 and got a job setting up and maintaining the computer network for SeeAblility - The Royal School for the Blind in Epsom south of London.

On his return to Australia David completed a number of contract roles at WA Government departments focusing on the domain and email environments. He then accepted a role with Cleanaway WA where he stayed for 5 years in numerous IT related roles until Cleanaway was sold to TranPacific  Industries.

David took up an offer to with Excom the largest technical training group at the time to train industry IT professionals in Microsoft based technologies and best practice service management. David stayed with Excom as their WA Training Manager until the organisation when into liquidation in 2010. David then helped establish L7 Training - a new divsion of the successful L7 IT services organisation.

In September 2013 David accepted the role of Training Manage - Australia and New Zealand with VMWare Australia. VMWare is the technology and services provider that supplies the underlying infrastructure for many cloud applications.

In early 2014 David was offered the role of National Training Manager with Intuit Australia. At the time Intuit had only just opened it doors in Australia, whilst it was almost a household name in the US, in Australia Intuit had be selling through a reseller and was not well know. Intuit made the decision when going direct to market to focus on a cloud only offering. David spent 19 months heading up the Intuit training program for accountants and bookkeepers before making the decision to return to WA and live in Katanning.
